Project Manager Position Available

Overview:

OT for BPD- Borderline Personality Disorder is a team of occupational therapists dedicated to raising awareness and tackling the stigma associated with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and other mental health conditions.

OT for BPD was developed after my (Laura’s) experience of being a health professional with BPD. During my journey through the health care system I recognised the unmet needs, the poor treatment and stigma people with BPD and other mental health conditions. Spurred on by my loved ones, I developed a project that could support consumers, assist therapists and help the community to learn about BPD.

What Services We Provide

  • Online learning material to consumers
  • Advocacy support to our community partners and members
  • Educational and health promotional material to the community
  • Supervising serval community projects.
  • Conducting evidenced based research into the needs of people with BPD.
  • Developing community partners in the development of new and exciting projects to support people with a mental health conditions to particulate in the community.  

The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a health care professional to join the OT for BPD team. Since 2018, the number of consumers and health care professionals seeking OT for BPD’s resources has significantly increased. With this growth OT for BPD is will become a not for profit service in 2020.

As Co-Founder and Project Manager you will be required to demonstrated dedication, passion and creativity to help grow OT for BPD and support our members.

One of the first roles of this position will be assisting in securing funding for services that OT for BPD Provides. Although this position will be initially a volunteer role there is potential for a paid position into the future.

Responsibilities

  • To liaise with current community partners by attending events and partnership meetings
  • Develop new partnerships with local not for profit and private mental health care services
  • Assist in grant writing applications and devising health policies.  
  • To co-facilitate OT for BPD’s social media presence
  • To assist in the training of new volunteers
  • To develop innovative and creative health promotional materials  

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills which can be targeted to diverse audiences
  • Excellent written communication skills for blog writing, report writing and grant writing.
  • Demonstrated creativity to think of new marketing ideas.
  • Excellent computer skills, including use of WordPress, email and presentation software
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • The ability to inform and inspire audiences
  • Willingness to learn from audience and staff evaluations

Requirements

  • Must hold or be in the process of registering with AHPRA Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Must have a degree in health care and experience in mental health care. New graduates are encouraged to apply.   
  • Must hold a driver’s license
  • Must have or be willing to obtain professional practice insurance
  • Engage in weekly contact online and monthly face to face contact at our office in Boronia.
  • Hours are flexible
  • Attend Induction and training
